1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use Scoor. By using the service, you represent that you have the legal authority to enter into these Terms, either on your own behalf or on behalf of an organization. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization.

2. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access at security@scoor.io.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Scoor to:

• Verify email addresses for the purpose of sending unsolicited commercial email (spam).
• Build email lists for sale, resale, or redistribution to third parties.
• Harvest email addresses without the knowledge of the email address owner.
• Circumvent rate limits, access controls, or other security measures.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of our services.
• Use the service in a manner that violates any applicable law or regulation, including anti-spam laws (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL).
• Resell or sublicense access to the API or platform without written consent.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access without notice for violations of these usage rules.

4. Subscription and Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes. By providing a payment method, you authorize us to charge all applicable fees.

• Free plan: 3,000 verifications per month at no charge, subject to fair use.
• Paid plans: Billed at the rates displayed on our pricing page at the time of subscription.
• Overages: Usage beyond your plan limit may result in service pausing or overage charges, as described in your plan details.
• Refunds: All fees are non-refundable except where required by law. If you experience a service issue, contact us within 14 days and we will assess your request in good faith.

5. Service Availability

We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the service. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service interruptions, outages, or degraded performance.

6. Verification Results

Email verification results are provided on a best-efforts basis using syntax validation, DNS/MX record lookup, and SMTP probing where applicable. Scoor does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of verification results. An email address marked as "valid" by Scoor is not a guarantee of deliverability, inbox placement, or the existence of the mailbox owner. You bear full responsibility for how you act on verification results.

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property in the Scoor platform, including software, design, trademarks, and documentation, is owned by Scoor or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the platform solely as permitted by these Terms. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you.

8. Your Data

You retain all rights to data you submit to Scoor. By using the service, you grant Scoor a limited license to process your data solely to provide the services. We will not use your data for purposes beyond those described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any data (including end-user email addresses) to Scoor.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scoor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scoor and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

11. Termination

Either party may terminate these Terms at any time. You may close your account from the account settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or if we cease to operate the service. Upon termination, your right to access the service immediately ceases. Sections 7–10 survive termination.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Scoor is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, and you consent to personal jurisdiction therein.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
